Joining the Music Battle

 I was busy rehearsing for a battle of a band contest for the past week. It was a rush performance as my band mates said, to me it was suicide.

Practicing songs for the contest was not really an easy job especially that the event was few days away. Four days to be exact prior the music battle. It was tough to lead again a group which was basically a mixed of different people. Three original members (that includes me) and two new add-ons to share their own musicality and was expected to be united as one for three days was difficult to handle. 

The musicality of a band or a group and how they will they jive with each other develop through rigorous performances and practice. What do you expect  from  mash up of five that just given 3-4 days to collaborate. Ahahaha, yeah I know,the situation is killing me.

So well, another obstacle was that I was not singing for years already except karaoke and videoke (hahaha). Second, the line up were really new to me. I don’t rap and one song requires me to do that. Comes the night of the performance, we did well.  I led the band and we have performed great( I assumed)  I knew I did not fail to give our best shot with all the hindrances that we’ve endured and encountered days before the music battle.. We have triumphed in conquering the stage and be applauded by the expectators.

Blurry, it seems at first but we have the choice to make or break it. We weren’t expecting to win that night what matters most to us is to enjoy the performance and savor each moment and break free. The reason why we have entered the battle of the bands was to performed together again after years of being disbanded and to relive the good old glory days before since one us will leave the country.

We never won that night but we never left empty handed because of the good memories we bagged as we went home.
